My first attempt at a blog post, I don’t know how this will go but let’s see. I have been trying to write as much as possible as not to lose my skills I gained while I was at school. But I can’t understand how, with only my school experiences, we are all expected to find a job right away. I am hopeful to be getting one soon, like all of my alumni. But as it stands I will be staying at my part time job at a florist until I will find a full time position. This may be soon (fingers crossed!) but unfortunately, it may not be.
And that’s okay, for now. But there comes a time in all of our lives that we need to become independent. For me, this is buying a car and eventually moving out. I am hoping to do this sooner rather than later, and it’s something that can’t be done with the hours and wage I am making at the florist. Frankly, I think that sucks but so it goes.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my job right now and I have been there for three years. But I would rather be in a position that will build my career as a journalist (and hey, more money is also necessary to be a ‘big girl’), and I can’t do that where I am now.
Yes, this may just seem like a rant about finding a job, and maybe it is. But I believe that this could be applied to any aspect of our lives. Patience is something that needs to be pursued by every individual.
You need to be patient when looking for a job yes, and also with friends, family members, coworkers and yourself. If you do this, you will be saving a lot of energy, frustration and possibly tears.
This is just a thought I had, and it may not matter to any of you, but it was something that I found important and therefore, here it is.
That’s all for the time being, but who knows.
I may have another thought soon and I will be back.
